Big birthdays!

Alright dad's,
So I got the big 4-0 coming up in 2 months. Was planning a big holiday with mates but getting everyone coordinated had proved a nightmare. Not really sure if I wanna organise something big now although might be up for it if a great idea comes up. Looking for some ideas about what I can do, either as a family, myself, with a few mates or as a big group. Any good shouts?

Best chance of making it happen is to plan a weekend rather than a week. Holiday, to me, would suggest about a week, but if you plan ahead and give plenty of notice, and keep an eye on Ryanair deals, you can get some cheap European breaks for a few quid. Could opt for adventure and go somewhere random, less of a "tourist hotspot", somewhere like Lithuania or Slovenia, which is cheap on the ground and cheap to get to!

Alternative is to go for a city break in the UK. If you're in England, go to Scotland. If you're in Wales go to England. Somewhere sufficiently different but not somewhere that will be too difficult to get to.
