So I have a job coming up in a week or two modifying one of our products for safety reasons for a customer. We have worked with them for years but it’s a new project manager leading this time. We had an email asking about documents and stuff from the customer and also asking what time I would be onsite which I have discussed previously with my boss about me needing to go get parts locally (Irish customer) either on the Sunday if they are still open or Monday morning. My boss before I even get a chance to say anything has replied to the customer stating I will be onsite at 830 which would be pretty normal so let that slide. The customer then replied again asking for documents to be updated and this is where I feel the power trip comes in! my boss replies to the customer asking me to update the documents and send it across and it’s not the first time he’s got himself into a sticky situation by blabbering on about something he has no idea about but is too proud to ask about or let the people who know discuss it. Our previous meeting I had to bail him out of a mess aswell as he was stuck in a rut claiming the clients system is the problem when actually we had updated documents and he hadn’t sent them across because again he forgot and didn’t ask and had been told by both myself and the other person who first modified the documents 🙈
